Why it Pays to Have a Definite Life Purpose
When was the last time you were asked, what is your "Definite Life Purpose"? It is not like everyday we go around asking friends or family what their definite life purpose is or even talk about it. However, knowing what your definite life purpose is, will help you stay focused, accomplish your goals faster, and bring about the kind of results you would like to have in your life. One way it pays to know what your life purpose is, is that it weeds out all the distractions that come in your way. How many times have you been working a particular goal and before you know it you are working on something else that has nothing to do with your goal? It seems to be the little things that catch us off guard and then it takes a whole lot of effort to get back on course. When you know what your goal is, your life purpose, you are able to stay focused and not get side tracked. You will begin to filter out all the things that don't keep you moving towards your goal, and continue to focus on those that do. Another way it pays to know your life purpose is that it's YOUR life purpose. No matter what your life purpose is, you would be more willing to pay the price. Only those that are willing to pay the price will accomplish their goals. When it's YOUR life purpose you will stand and fight for it no matter what. Also, once you know your life purpose, you can start living it. Can my life purpose change over time? Sure, your life purpose can change over time. You can also think of your life purpose as your own mission statement. Most, if not all, businesses will have a mission statement. It will usually cover what the company stands for and the quality they will provide their service in. Many people live their whole lives wondering what their purpose is. Not you. Once you know what your life purpose is, your goals get accomplished faster, and you will have a sense of purpose in your life. How can I discover my life purpose? There are various steps that you can go through to help find what your life purpose is. Some people make this part hard when it really isn't. Many people find their life purpose by looking at what they are passionate about. Take some time to listen to your heart. You will find it. ADHD - Its a Wonderful Life
As I usually do over the Holidays, I watched one of my all-time favorite actors in one of my all time favorite movies and that's Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life". Co-starring Donna Reed and made in the 1940s, the movie was not critically acclaimed at the time, but over the years has become a stable of the Holiday Season. If you have not seen it, you need to, and if you have, then you all know it revolves around a small town businessman George Bailey from Bedford Falls, New York, who, as he grows up, has all of these dreams of doing wonderful things with his life, and hopes of traveling to all the farthest points in the world. His plans are constantly interrupted by world events and family circumstances, which include the death of his father, the great depression, and World War II. George's father and his Uncle Billy years earlier had started the Baileys Brothers Building and Loan to help the less fortunate people of Bedford Falls obtain the great American Dream of home ownership. Their only alternative is high rent or exorbitant interest rates to the local scrooge Mr. Potter. Uncle Billy is a classic ADHD type individual. An Irishmen, like me, who apparently has never been married, has a pet crow he carries around with him, and a pet squirrel at home. He is constantly worrying and has little self esteem.

One Last Month to Make it Count!
Can you believe it, summer is almost over. Did you get to accomplish everything you planned? Did life sneak up on you, such as unexpected bills, a loss of a job or did your situation change? Well, the busiest 2 months of summer are over, with literally weeks until school starts up again. There's a lot of juggling finances as you finish off your summer trips, buy school clothes and rush to the store to buy up all the school supplies you can get your hands on. For the kids the hustle and bustle has just begun, but for the single parent this is just a normal month. How often do we have a busy month like this and we don't think twice about it. It's a regular routine for us, we work, we buy, and we're broke. There's no "ifs", "ands" or "buts" about it. We work hard, play less and fall into an eternal cycle of Single Parenting. Half the time we don't know which end is up, just as long as those kids are fed, the bills are paid and we can get to work on time.
